Welcome

bumc_family-06-08.jpg

We joined Broadway United Methodist in 2005 because of the welcoming nature of the congregation.  Since joining, Amy has become baptized, we were married in the church, and welcomed our daughter, Christian Ellen into our family in February of 2008.  We have had such a positive experience with Broadway and feel fortunate to be active members in the church.

Sacraments

We celebrate two sacraments in the United Methodist Church, Baptism and Holy Communion.

Baptism is a sign of God’s grace. It is an act by which we are welcomed into the family of God. Baptism is administered to all ages including infants. The method of baptism may be sprinkled, poured or immersed. It is generally done during the service of morning worship.

Holy Communion is a means of God’s grace. It is a sharing in fellowship of bread and juice which is a symbol of the Banquet which will be celebrated in heaven. The Communion table is God’s table. It is not the table of The United Methodist Church or Broadway United Methodist Church, therefore it is open to all of every age and station. You do not need to be a member of Broadway UMC or any church to partake. It is only ask that you repent of your sins and that you intend to lead a new life in Christ..
