Welcome

We joined Broadway United Methodist in 2005 because of the welcoming nature of the congregation.  Since joining, Amy has become baptized, we were married in the church, and welcomed our daughter, Christian Ellen into our family in February of 2008.  We have had such a positive experience with Broadway and feel fortunate to be active members in the church.

Children Ministries

Broadway’s Children’s Ministry begins with our nursery during all church services and programs. Quality care is given to infants, toddlers and preschool children while parents participate in worship and other activities of the church.

Elementary children may participate in Sunday School classes each Sunday and activities during the week, planned and provided especially for Kindergarten through 5th graders.  Opportunities include children’s choir, Bible study, fun and fellowship, and mission activities throughout the year.

Special events are part of the Children’s Ministry at Broadway United Methodist Church.  Annual events include a Children’s Christmas Party, Easter Egg Hunt, and Vacation Bible School for children ages 3 through 5th graders.  A Day Camp about missions was introduced as a summer opportunity in 2008.

Sunday School For Pre-Schoolers

A weekly Sunday School Class specifically for preschool age children, meets in our nursery department.   Two teachers will teach the class from 9:30 a.m.-10:25 a.m. in the "big kid" classroom inside the nursery.  The children  learn all about God's love and the teachings of Jesus while having fun using interactive Bible Zone curriculum.  AND THERE'S MORE!  Rev. Bob Fejes joins the class at 9:45 a.m. each week to lead the children in song, as they make up the Alpha Choir!

Children's Church

The 2nd & 4th Sundays of the month, children in kindergarten through third grade are invited to participate in Children's Church, an opportunity for kids to learn more about worship.  On these Sundays children will be dismissed from the sanctuary during the middle hymn of the service.  They  spend the rest of the service with two adult leaders learning about elements of worship and being part of a community of believers.

God'zOwn for Children Grades K - 5 -Wednesday Afternoons
Our Wednesday afternoon children's ministry provides a new format, with four unique "terms" during the 2008-2009 school year.

We have time for recreation and games, Bible Study, choir and enrichment time, involving drama, art, and a variety of activities as we learn how we can welcome others, worship, develop our faith, and give of ourselves to our church and in mission to our community.  Come join us as we learn, grow and have fun together.

Term 2: "Christmas Is Coming" begins Wednesday, December 3, 2008 (4:15-5:45 p.m.)

Water Activities: A water exercise class for Children K-5th is included in activities throughout the year.

Mother’s Day Out is one of the longest-running programs of its kind in the city of Paducah, providing a safe environment for young children during the week.  The Fall/Winter Session runs Tuesday and Thursday. The Summer Session is Thursday only and provides activities for elementary children as well.

Parent's Night Out is available on selected Friday nights. Safe, reliable babysitting is available while you enjoy a night out for dinner, a movie or shopping. Call 443-2401 ext 216 to make reservations or for more information.
